The following safety message has been circulated on behalf of SGN
As you may already be aware, work to upgrade our existing gas network across the Kincaidston estate beings on Monday 29 November. Our project will last approximately 20 weeks (not 16, as previously stated) and will be carried out by our contractor Pipeline Energy Solutions.
Whilst most of our work will be carried out on the carriageway and footpaths with minimal disruption, there will be stages of this project where we may have to implement traffic management measures. Where this is the case, we will notify you accordingly.
Our engineers will begin work in Kincaidston Drive, outside number 182, and we’ll also be working in Kincaidston Drive between its junctions with Cornhill and Harbell Place. Temporary traffic lights will be in place here to ensure the safety of our engineers and local residents while we work. At the same time, our team will also be working in Sorrel Drive.
Enclosed with this message is attached leaflet which is being distributed to residents and business in the area, and gives you more information on how we’re planning the project and which areas we’ll be working in. As this is a substantial project with over 5km of underground gas pipe to convert, our contractor will be working seven days a week for the duration of this project.
Please also note, during the Christmas period, there’ll be a reduced presence and level of work on site.
We’ll also be hosting a series of drop-in session for residents and businesses in the Kincaidston Community Pavilion on the following dates:
Thursday 25 November – 3pm to 5.30pm
Friday 26 November – 12noon to 6pm
Monday 29 November – 10am to 5pm
If you, or a colleague would like to join us at the above events, please drop in – we are providing free refreshments and we’d be delighted to meet you.

We’re working closely with Scottish Government to make sure we carry out our project in line with all current coronavirus safety guidance. The safety of our communities and our employees will remain our number one priority in the weeks and months ahead.
