The following safety message has been circulated on behalf of SGNAs you may know, between October 2021 and January 2022 we worked in the Crookfur Road area of Newton Mearns. We’re now returning to complete the final stage of our project during the school summer holidays when traffic volume is reduced so that we can minimise our impact on residents and motorists. Our work has been planned with East Renfrewshire Council and will start on Monday, 4 July and last approximately three weeks. This involves multi-way traffic lights at Ayr Road’s junctions with Crookfur Road and Firwood Road. During this time there will be no access to the Parklands Hotel and Country Club from Crookfur Road – access will be available via Ayr Road. Our engineers will be working to replace old metallic gas main with new polyethylene PE pipe which will ensure our network is ready for green sources of energy, such as hydrogen. We wish to assure you that our work will progress as quickly as possible and we’ll be doing everything we can to limit delays and disruption and to ensure the project remains on schedule. We’re writing to residents and other local stakeholders to make them aware of our project and explain the details of our work. In addition we have prepared the attached leaflet for local residents and businesses and will have information on social media. Please feel free to also share this information with anyone you think may be impacted by our project.
