The following information is being circulated on behalf of SGN
We’ll shortly begin work to upgrade our gas network in the Prestonpans, area of East Lothian.
This work involves replacing 2200m of old metal gas mains and service pipes with new plastic pipe, ensuring a continued safe and reliable gas supply to the local community for many years to come.
We’ve planned our work in close consultation with the local authorities to reduce disruption as much as possible. Our project will begin on Monday 18 October and will be carried out by our contractor George Ritchie, Utilities on our behalf and will take approximately 13 weeks to complete.
During these essential works parking restrictions will be in operation allowing safe access to our pipes. Some road closures will also be required. Temporary traffic signals will be in operation from time to time which may cause delays during peak periods. Emergency vehicle access will be maintained throughout our works.
Our works will be suspended during the Christmas holidays with operatives returning early in the new year. We will ensure that the site is clear and tidy and all plant removed during this time.

Local parking restrictions will also be in operation to allow us safe access to our apparatus. To minimise disruption, our work will be carried out on a phased basis and not all streets will be affected at the same time. Access to driveways and garages will be maintained unless previously agreed with the occupier.
