Local co-ordinator teams up with community policing team to revive and promote Neighbourhood Watch

Helping tackle crime is one of the many benefits being part of a Neighbourhood Watch Group can bring.

Neighbourhood Watch strives to harness community spirit as well as forging strong relations, and Musselburgh is an excellent example of what a partnership approach can really do to reduce crime and make your area a safer place to live.

The area, which currently has six Neighbourhood Watch schemes, have full support from their local Community Policing Team, MSP and many Ward Councillors.  It is hoped inactive Watches can be revived, as well as new ones registered, to help create a wider area of coverage.

We all want to make our Communities a safer place to live, and being part of a Neighbourhood Watch scheme can help contribute to this whilst ensuring the elderly, vulnerable and young people are given a sense of security.

Neighbourhood Watch Scotland offers advice and guidance to those who need it, encouraging those in communities to feel empowered, confident and supported.
